In 2013, Gowthaman N watched talented youth from Tamil Nadu's rural communities struggle — not because they lacked potential, but because systems had failed them. Unemployment was rampant. Women were sidelined. Villages lacked basic opportunity.
He didn't write a report. He didn't file a petition. He founded YOUD — Youngsters United Development — and started showing up, village by village, family by family, transforming despair into direction.
Today, YOUD stands as living proof that grassroots action, sustained vision, and community trust can change the social fabric of a nation.

Born in Tamil Nadu with a deep understanding of rural struggle, Gowthaman N chose service over comfort. Since 2013, he has personally led thousands of welfare initiatives — job fairs, women empowerment camps, educational drives, and COVID relief operations — building YOUD from a single idea into a multi-program social movement.
His philosophy is simple: meet people where they are, equip them with what they need, then step back and watch them soar.

YOUD's job fair changed everything for me. I had been unemployed for 2 years after graduating. Within a week of attending YOUD's free job fair in Palani, I had an interview. Today I work at a manufacturing company in Coimbatore.
WOWS gave me something I never had — an economic identity. I got my SHG membership, an ID card, and guidance to apply for schemes. Now I run a small tailoring unit and employ 3 other women in my village.
During COVID lockdown in April 2020, my family had nothing to eat. YOUD Trust volunteers came to our area on motorbikes and distributed food packets with full dignity. That care made me join as a volunteer.
